Sonos Debuts Move 2 Portable Speaker With Stereo Sound, 24-Hour Battery Life

Sonos is packing some new hardware on the next-generation Move portable speaker.
The American audio device manufacturer announced the Singapore launch of the Move 2, a follow-up to original Move released in 2019. The new speaker has been overhauled inside and out to bring premium sound experiences no matter where you use it, from al fresco dinners to poolside parties.
Chief of which is perhaps the new acoustic architecture, which now features dual-tweeters that deliver stereo sound and crisp vocals. The original move, in comparison, only featured mono playback. The Move 2 does retain the woofer of its predecessor to handle deep, dynamic bass frequencies.
Furthermore, the Move 2 supports concurrent Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, allowing you to pair it with another Move speaker or group it with the rest of your Sonos system for enhanced sound experiences.
When you're outdoors, the last thing you want to worry about is finding a nearby outlet to charge your devices. With the Move 2, that likely won't be an issue as it is said to offer up to 24 hours of playback time on full charge, which is double that of the original Move. It sports a USB-C port that you can use to charge your other electronics on the go, making it the ideal outdoor gathering companion.
The Move 2 also features an ultra durable design and IP56 rating, being built to withstand accidental drops, splashes, rain, dirt and sun exposure.
Other noteworthy features include support for automatic Trueplay tuning, which optimises sound based on your surroundings and Sonos Line-In Adapter, which allows you to connect to other audio sources, such as turntables and computers.
On top of all these, Sonos claims the Move 2 is its most sustainable portable product to date, incorporating recycled plastic and featuring a replaceable battery that can extend the speaker's lifespan.
The Move 2 will be available from 6 October 2023 for the retail price of S$799. Pre-orders start from 6 September, 9pm at tcacoustic.asia as well as at the TC Acoustic flagship store at The Adelphi. The speaker comes in olive, black and white colourways.
