Singapore’s Digital for Life Festival 2023 Invites You To Explore Emerging Digital Technologies

Singapore's Digital for Life (DfL) Festival is back this year, inviting you to participate in fun-filled activities of learning.

The annual gathering is happening across three weekends at three different heartland locations: Kampung Admiralty Community Plaza on 28 and 29 October; Heartbeat@Bedok on 4 and 5 November and; Toa Payoh Hub on 11 and 12

November.


Each of the weekends feature the same three zones: Learn, Explore and Play a Part.


In the Learn Zone, you can pick up essential digital skills that can you can use in your daily life. If you're a parent, for example, you can learn ways on how to navigate your children's digital journey through activities. Additionally, you can experience what it means to be a Digital Citizen in a smart neighbourhood, from government agencies like the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, National Library Board, the Smart Nation Singapore. You can also widen your knowledge about online safety and security from partners like DBS Bank, Microsoft, Google and Singtel, among others.

Meanwhile, in the Explore Zone, you can experience a showcase of exciting emerging technologies for yourself. You can go hands-on with the latest in digital innovation, including artificial intelligence (AI) and interact with immersive media like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and even mixed reality (MR). On top of these, you can Join workshops where seniors can learn about AI or witness firsthand technology demonstrations from Amazon, Smobler and Buzz AR.


Finally, in the Play a Part Zone, you can participate in Singapore's push for digitalisation and help build an inclusive digital society. There, you can pledge your support for the DfL movement and speak to project volunteers, forging connections and building communities around shared interests.

"Along with our DfL partners, we want to bring for every visitor at the Festival hands-on experiences and practical tips on using digital technologies effectively and safely," said Ms Doreen Tan, Assistant Chief Executive, Strategic Planning and Digital Readiness at IMDA. "It has something digital that is useful and relevant for everyone, whether youths, families with young children and seniors."


"So, come join us in this fun-filled Festival to learn, play and be inspired by the limitless possibilities of the digital world."


Festival admission is free. If you want to join any of the workshops, you can register for them via the event's official website.


Digital for Life Festival 2023 was organised by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in cooperation with over 120 partners from the Private, Public and People (3P) sectors. These partners include tech giants like Google, Meta and Microsoft.
