Sennheiser Launches Ambeo Soundbar Plus, Ambeo Sub
Updated: Dec 19, 2023
Sennheiser has expanded its Ambeo lineup with two new soundbars, the Ambeo Soundbar Plus and the Ambeo Sub.

"The Ambeo Soundbar Plus and Ambeo Sub builds on the success of the award-winning Ambeo Soundbar Max, ranked by reviewers as the best soundbar in the world," said Maximillian Voigt, Product Manager of Ambeo Soundbars at Sennheiser.
The Ambeo Soundbar Plus is touted as the world's first 7.1.4. standalone soundbar, delivering a compact design that doesn't compromise the audio experience. The German audio specialist claims the Soundbar Plus is even more compact than the Soundbar Max, but retains its 3D sound capabilities as well as its self-calibration properties. It can analyse a room's acoustics to project several virtual speakers, allowing you to experience the depth and impact of cinema-quality sound at home without the need for extra cables or satellite speakers.

Supported 3D audio standards include Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Sony's 360 Reality Audio and MPEG-H Audio. Sennheiser also claims that you can upmix stereo and 5.1 content to create 3D sound experiences.
Apart from movies, the Soundbar Plus is said to also be great at playing music. It features a range of equaliser settings and customisable presets, which you can access via the Smart Control App on your mobile devices. The soundbar also runs on the Ambeo|OS platform, enabling you to quickly access your favourite music streaming services like Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect. The software also works with a Google Assistant-enabled device with Chromecast built-in, along with seamless integration with Alexa and Siri.

Alongside the Soundbar Plus, Sennheiser also launched the Ambeo Sub, an eight-inch 350W wireless subwoofer, which also leverages virtualisation and self-calibration tech. The company says the closed enclosure of the design ensures audiophile-grade bass down to 27Hz. Meanwhile, the multi-sub array tech allows you to connect up to four subwoofers that you can calibrate individually.
The Ambeo Soundbar Plus and the Ambeo Sub will set you back S$2,299 and S$1,099, respectively. You can alternatively get both in a bundle package for S$3,098. The soundbars are now available for purchase at authorised Sennheiser Consumer Hearing webstores and selected authorised retailers
