Samsung announced that their next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held online on 28 April 2021 at 10 AM ET. The event can be viewed on Samsung’s newsroom page and Samsung’s YouTube channel.

The company did not give any clue or information about the subject of the upcoming event, even in their teaser trailer that was meant to “set the scene” for the unveiling. However, it is possible that the event is not about a flagship phone, as Samsung announced the Galaxy S21 in January 2021.

Instead of a phone, Windows Central’s Daniel Rubino believes that a laptop will take centre stage at the event. More specifically, a newer version of Samsung’s Galaxy Book due to reports about Samsung laptops “making the rounds more than usual.” This Galaxy Book could be the Galaxy Book Pro, Galaxy Pro 360 or the Galaxy Book Go.

According to Rubino’s report, the Galaxy Book Pro will be equipped with an 11th-gen Intel Core processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics and an NVIDIA MX450 GPU. Additionally, the Galaxy Book Pro will have an FHD AMOLED display, Thunderbolt 4 ports and as well as an option that supports LTE. The Galaxy Pro 360, meanwhile, will have a hinge capable of turning 360 degrees, Gismochina’s Balaji S. reported. Balaji also mentioned that the Galaxy Pro 360 will also have the same specifications as the Galaxy Book Pro. The Galaxy Book Go, on the other hand, will run on a new Qualcomm 8CX (Gen.X) processor that is expected to provide “great power and performance” to the laptop, according to a tweet from leaker WalkingCat.

Rubino also mentioned that there is a possibility that “the most powerful Galaxy” will be a laptop powered by an Exynos processor along with an AMD GPU, citing a report from ZDNet Korea. According to the report, Samsung plans to release a Windows 10-based PC that comes with a mobile application processor produced by “combining AMD graphics technology and ‘Exynos 2200’ (tentative name).”

Whether the “most powerful Galaxy” is really a phone or a laptop is still up for debate until the upcoming Unpacked event comes.

It seems that the next few weeks will be exciting for the consumer tech industry as Apple will also hold its “Spring Loaded” event on 20 April 2021, 8 days before Samsung’s Unpacked.
