Samsung’s upcoming Project Moohan headset has surfaced in a Geekbench 6 benchmark test, revealing key specifications ahead of its official launch.

The device, listed under model number SM-i610, is confirmed to be the Project Moohan headset. It will be the first to showcase Google’s Android XR platform, designed for mixed and augmented reality.
The benchmark entry, highlighted by Abishek Yadav on X, shows the headset features 16GB RAM and a CPU configuration consistent with the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset. This includes six performance-focused CPU cores and an Adreno 740 graphics processor.
The Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 is a step up from the XR2 Gen 2 used in the Meta Quest 3, although both use the Adreno 740 GPU. The Adreno 740 is also found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a chipset used in high-end smartphones.
In the Geekbench 6 test, Project Moohan scored 2,453 points. While this is comparable to older flagship phones like the Samsung Galaxy S10 or S20, the score is not fully indicative of performance due to the test’s focus on phone-style architecture. VR headsets typically score lower due to interface overheads and lack of efficiency cores.
For comparison, the Meta Quest 3 generally scores between 1,500 and 1,600 points, though some results exceed 2,000. This suggests Project Moohan may offer a performance edge over Meta’s current headset.
The listing also indicates the headset runs Android 14, suggesting it is the base for the first version of Android XR. This is behind the latest Android 15 and Android 16, which was unveiled earlier this month.
Android XR is Google’s new operating system interface for extended reality devices. Project Moohan is expected to be the first major hardware to demonstrate its capabilities.
Early previews of the headset have been shared by select journalists and influencers. Victoria Song of The Verge described it as “much lighter and more comfortable to wear” than the Apple Vision Pro, though the user experience is reportedly similar.
Jacob Krol of TechRadar noted the headset feels “less premium” than Apple’s, but benefits from reduced weight. He also pointed out its tight integration with Google Gemini, a key feature of Android XR.
Samsung has not yet announced a release date beyond confirming a 2025 launch window. Pricing details also remain undisclosed.
