ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604) Now Available In Singapore!
The ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604) has been announced by Republic of Gamers (ROG) for 2023 and it's a well-needed refresh to the ever popular M16. Thin and light gaming is certainly a trend nowadays and we're definitely looking forward to trying this out once we get our hands on it!
This laptop features upgraded silicon from Intel and NVIDIA, capable of being outfitted with an Intel Core i9-13800H which sports a 14-core layout with 6 Performance-cores and 8 Efficiency-cores, as well as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU with a 115W TGP that's capable of 140W with Dynamic Boost. This is paired effectively with their next-gen Intelligent Cooling components. Pushing the boundaries of what an ultraportable laptop is capable of, the new M16 features Thermal Grizzly liquid metal thermal compound, a unique Tri-Fan thermal module, and the ability to stay completely silent with 0dB Ambient Cooling Technology.
The chassis design also allows for a larger, full-width heatsink, paired with ROG’s Tri-Fan Technology, which routes air from three fans through precisely calculated cutouts for more efficient cooling. This enables the laptop to reach 20W higher as compared to last year’s model, pushing the top-tier Intel Core i9-13900H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU as far as possible.
The display gets a well-needed refresh as well with the ROG Nebula Display that sports a 16:10 IPS panel with a QHD+ (2,560 x 1,600) resolution at 240Hz with a 3ms response time, 100% DCI-P3 alongside G-Sync, Dolby Vision, up to 500 nits in brightness and is also Pantone Validated for all your professionals out there.
For those of you interested in a dash of personality, the new Zephyrus M16 (GU604) will be the second laptop ever to feature ROG’s iconic AniMe Matrix™ Display. The larger, 16-inch canvas allows for larger, more beautiful animations than ever, shining through thousands of precision-milled holes in the lid of the chassis for a customizable one-of-a-kind look. Want your personal logo or perhaps a custom GIF to show? You name it. The finish of the chassis will prove to be durable and sleek with a new mirror-polishing technique and an exclusive nano-sandblasting finish for fingerprint resistance.
Thanks to the larger form factor, the laptop boasts a new and improved audio system with a total of 6 speakers, which should elevate the experience for streaming, recording, and gaming. Alongside Dolby Atmos® technology, the audio system features twin tweeters and dual force-cancelling woofers, all carefully arranged in a new speaker pattern to produce well-balanced acoustics. Moreover, the laptop's customizable 3D mic array captures audio in various settings, and Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation ensures that sound from both incoming and outgoing feeds is touted to be crystal clear.
The laptop does also feature a 90Wh battery but only time will tell how long it'll actually last in a real-world usage scenario. Also to note, it does weigh roughly 2.3kg / 5.07lbs, which isn't all that light per se. Do definitely rock a bigger backpack should you intend to be constantly out and about.
