Renders of Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4 Leak As Samsung Confirms Unpacked on August
Samsung today teased that it’ll be hosting an Unpacked launch event on 10 August, where it plans to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, but we might not have to wait until then to get our first look at the next-generation foldables.
Thanks to some leaks, the official renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 are already circulating online. They were first discovered by renowned leaker Ben Geskin, but the renders themselves allegedly come from different sources.
Taking a closer look, the Z Fold 4 doesn’t look all that different from its predecessor, the Z Fold 3, suggesting this year’s iteration is more of an incremental upgrade rather than a generational leap. The original source of the leak, a site called Pricebaba Daily, claims the new device builds on the foundation of past releases while improving durability and water-resistance.
The renders additionally showcase the three colours that will be available for the Z Fold 4: beige, black and grey. They also show the rear camera module consisting of three lenses, which are believed to be a 50-megapixel primary lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens with up to 3x zoom.
As for the display, the new Fold will supposedly ship with a 7.6-inch inner panel and a 6.2-inch front panel, both of which are AMOLED and support 120Hz refresh rate.
Other rumoured features include an in-display fingerprint scanner and an under-display selfie camera.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 similarly looks to be an incremental upgrade when compared to last year’s model, but there are a couple of noticeable changes. Going by the renders from MySmartPrice, the cover display does indeed look a tad bit bigger than the one on the Z Fold, as previous leaks have suggested. It’ll supposedly go from a 1.9-inch screen on last year’s model to a 2.1-inch screen this year.
The design of the camera module, meanwhile, looks to be mostly untouched. The dual-camera setup consists of a 12-megapixel primary lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
Moving to the display, the Z Flip 4 will pack a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a punchhole notch at the top centre, housing the 10-megapixel selfie camera. It’s expected to also support 120Hz refresh rate.
For colours, the render seems to show four options: blue, lavender, black and a cream.
The two foldables will be officially announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event next month, which can be streamed live here at 9:00pm Singapore time. The Fold 4 will reportedly be available the day it’s revealed, while the Z Flip 4 could come later.
