Internet connectivity has been affected in multiple countries, including India and Pakistan, due to subsea cable outages in the Red Sea. Internet monitoring group Netblocks stated that similar internet disruptions were observed on Etilasat and Du networks in the United Arab Emirates.

It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the damage. However, Netblocks identified failures affecting cable systems near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

On Saturday, Microsoft reported that its Microsoft Azure users might experience increased latency. This is due to multiple undersea fibre cuts in the Red Sea.
The company stated that its users might experience service disruptions on traffic routes through the Middle East. Azure, the world's second-largest cloud provider, has rerouted traffic through alternative network paths.
Network traffic is not interrupted, according to Microsoft. The company expects higher latency on some traffic that previously traversed through the Middle East, while network traffic not traversing the Middle East is not impacted.
