Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Powers Google's Gemini Googlebooks

Qualcomm Technologies is bringing its Snapdragon X Elite platform to Google's new Googlebook laptops, which are designed around Gemini Intelligence. The partnership pairs on-device AI processing with cross-device links to Snapdragon-powered Android phones and tablets. Qualcomm says the machines will support agentic AI tools, native Android apps and games, and all-day battery life, positioning its chip as one route into Google's new premium laptop category.

Qualcomm's role in the launch centres on the Snapdragon X Elite platform. The company says its performance, power efficiency and AI capabilities will work alongside Gemini Intelligence to deliver a more personalised laptop experience.

The announcement describes proactive tools that can assist with tasks using the Snapdragon neural processing unit. Qualcomm has not detailed individual Googlebook models in the emailed release, so the company-level collaboration is the principal development.

Googlebook is also intended to connect more closely with Snapdragon-powered Android phones and tablets. Qualcomm says users will have cross-device experiences and access to thousands of native Android applications and games, linking mobile software with the new laptop category.

Qualcomm is promising all-day battery life for Snapdragon X Elite-powered Googlebooks. The release gives no model-by-model battery figures, pricing or regional availability, leaving those details for individual devices.

For Qualcomm, Googlebook provides another outlet for Snapdragon X Elite in personal computers, with AI features and links to Android devices at the centre of the pitch. The next test will be how these capabilities work in the first machines available to buyers.
