Poco Launches New Flagship F3 For Under S$600

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

We were really impressed by Poco’s F2 Pro flagship when it came out, and we said as much in our review. Well, the new F3 has now been launched and it’s shaping up to be just as great, although we’re still holding out for an F3 Pro in the future.

Let’s talk specs. The F3 will come with a 5G-capable Snapdragon 870 processor, either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The screen is a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that supports 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ and has a 900 nit typical brightness level, although this can go up to 1300 nits of brightness, which means the screen will be clear and visible even under bright sunlight.

There’s a triple camera array on the rear, with a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens as well as a 5MP telemacro lens. There’s also a 20MP front camera for sharp selfies.

The F3 even comes with dual speakers and Poco has collaborated with Dolby to get the speakers Dolby Atmos-certified, as well as Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified.

The 4,250mAh battery is a bit of the small side, especially considering that 5G usage does drain the battery quite quickly. That being said though, there’s a 33W fast charger in the box, so the phone can use fast charging to top up during the day.

The Poco F3 also supports Wi-Fi 6, so users will be able to get really fast internet speeds whether they’re connected to Wi-Fi or out on the go with 5G.

The Poco F3 retails for S$549 for the 6GB/128GB version or S$599 for the 8GB/256GB version. However, the phone will be launching on Shopee and other authorised retailers on 27 March, and if you’re a fan of shopping online, the Poco F3 will be getting flash discounts on that day. You’ll be able to get the 6GB/128GB phone at just S$459 and the 8GB/256GB version at S$499. At S$500, the Poco F3 is an absolute steal!

That’s not all though. Poco is also adding to the X3 lineup. The Poco X3 Pro is launching on 24 March and it’ll boast a Snapdragon 860 processor, 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM as well as 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The screen still clocks in at 6.67-inches, but it’s now an LCD display that supports 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. There’s only HDR10, and the brightness seemingly clocks out at a 450 nits typical level, which isn’t great.

There’s a quad-camera array on the back, with a 48MP main lens, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth lens. The front selfie camera comes in at 20MP.

The battery in this is a bit bigger at 5,160mAh, which is a nice touch, and there’s also a 33W fast charger in the box. There’s also expandable storage in this phone, up to 1TB, so no worries about ever running out of storage space here.

The Poco X3 Pro will retail at S$399 for the 6GB/128GB version or S$449 for the 8GB/256GB variant. That being said, there’s also a flash sale on Shopee on 24 March, so you’ll be able to get discounted prices of S$299 and S$369 for the 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants respectively.
