Oppo Launches Pad 2 With Industry-First 7:5 Aspect Ratio Display
Updated: Dec 18, 2023
Oppo wants its new tablet to be your next office companion.
The Chinese smartphone giant today launched in Singapore the Pad 2, which boasts an industry-first 7:5 aspect ratio display. The aspect ratio is the same as that of many office tools, including PCs, A4 paper and books, allowing you to enjoy a comfortable and familiar reading experience.
What's more, the 11.61-inch panel features 10% more viewing area compared to similar-sized Android tablets, which typically sport 16:10 displays. That expanded area is also retained in both full screen and in split-screen mode, providing you a consistent viewing experience across different modes.
The panel itself has a 2800x2000 resolution and TÜV Rheinland certification for Low Blue Light standards. It also supports 144Hz ultra-high refresh rate and five levels of adaptive refresh rate adjustment as well as 1.07 billion colours, making it capable of outputting sharp and vivid visuals.
Under the hood, the Pad 2 is powered by the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000 platform and paired with LPDDR5 high-speed memory and UFS3.1 flash memory. It also houses a 9,510mAh battery that can last up to 12.4 hours of continuous video playback on a full charge. The battery supports Oppo's 67W SuperVOOC fast-charging solution, enabling it to be fully juiced up from empty in about 81 minutes.
All that hardware is packed in a thin, lightweight metal unibody, which has a thickness of just 6.54mm and a weight of 552g. Oppo adds that the tablet is designed to be both portable and durable.
For software features, the Pad 2 supports Multi-Screen Connect 2.0, which lets it connect with any smartphone that uses the same Oppo account and has Bluetooth enabled. When connected, the tablet can gain full access to your smartphone's communication features, giving you the ability to make and receive calls or texts while using your smartphone's mobile data.
You can also enhance your tablet experience with some additional accessories like the Pad 2 Smart Touchpad Keyboard, the Oppo Pencil and the Pad 2 Smart Case. The Smart Touchpad Keyboard connects seamlessly through magnetic pairing, while the Oppo Pencil brings a natural handwriting experience with a latency of only two milliseconds.
The Oppo Pad 2 ships with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and retails at S$799 with a free Smart Case. The Pad 2 Smart Touchpad Keyboard and the Oppo Pencil retails at S$139 and S$119, respectively, while the OPPO Pad 2 Smart Case retails at S$59.
All products are hitting the market starting 31 August.
