Oppo Find X3 Pro 5G’s Download Speeds Slightly Faster Than iPhone 14 Pro Max, According to Ookla
Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max is one of the most hotly-talked-about gadget releases of the season, touting top-of-the-line performance across the board. But it’s apparently not the fastest handset out there in terms of download speeds, if a new study is to be believed.
According to Ookla’s market analysis for Q3 2022, Oppo’s Find X3 Pro 5G has faster download speeds than the iPhone 14 Pro Max in Singapore. The former recorded a median download speed of 210.47 mbps, while the latter recorded 200.21 mbps.
Meanwhile, when it comes to upload speeds, the iPhone 14 Pro Max recorded 30.17 mbps, while the Find X3 Pro 5G recorded 27 mbps.
The two devices were followed respectively by the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, the iPhone 14 Pro and the Galaxy S22+.
The iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max ship with the debuting A16 Bionic chip, a 4nm hexa-core CPU which Apple claims is faster and more efficient than the competition. Both also house a Qualcomm modem for sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G connectivity. The Find X3 Pro 5G, on the other hand, packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G, an octa-core CPU built on the 5nm process.
It’s worth mentioning that these metrics shouldn’t be taken for gospel as there are a number of factors which can influence the results. Ookla itself notes that between the individual devices, there was no statistical winner during the quarter.
However, between major device manufacturers, Apple came out on top in Singapore. As a whole, the Cupertino company’s devices recorded median download speeds of 81.65 mbps and upload speeds of 16.51 mbps. Behind it is Samsung, which recorded download speeds of 74.78 mbps and upload speeds of 15.87 mbps. It’s followed by Oppo, Xiaomi and Huawei.
For chipsets, the fastest is supposedly Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which recorded download speeds of 199.50 mbps and upload speeds of 21.85 mbps.
Ookla’s data comes from hundreds of millions of tests taken by real people using Speedtest on their devices each month.
