OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Go, a new subscription plan priced at 399 Indian rupees (USD 4.57) per month, exclusively for India.

This is the ChatGPT maker’s most affordable offering to date, designed to strengthen its position in its second-largest market. Global companies frequently provide more affordable subscription options for India's price-sensitive market, aiming for the nearly one billion internet users in the nation.

ChatGPT Go enables users to send up to ten times more messages and generate ten times more images than the free version. The plan also offers faster response times. Microsoft-backed OpenAI stated that ChatGPT Go is created for Indians seeking greater access to ChatGPT’s advanced capabilities at a lower cost. Message limits increase with higher-tier subscription plans.
For comparison, ChatGPT Pro, the top-tier version, costs 19,900 Indian rupees per month in India, while ChatGPT Plus, the mid-range plan, is priced at 1,999 Indian rupees per month.
India is OpenAI’s second-largest market by user base, following the United States. OpenAI Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman recently indicated that India may soon become the largest market. Earlier this year, Altman met with India's Information Technology minister to discuss a plan for establishing a low-cost artificial intelligence ecosystem.
