Nokia Unveils Refreshed Strategy To Support Singapore's Digital Transformation
Yesterday, Nokia hosted Amplify Singapore, an event where it unveiled its refreshed strategy to support the island city state's digital transformation and economic advancement.
The renewed strategy involves Nokia leading the development of future technological innovations in Singapore, including pioneering next-generation networks and business-to-business solutions that can enable enterprises and communication service providers to maximise opportunities for digitalisation.
"We remain dedicated to Singapore’s digital transformation efforts and strengthening the city’s digital infrastructure in line with the recently announced Digital Connectivity Blueprint," said Ngiam Ming Kin, Head of Nokia Singapore. "With our renewed brand strategy, we look forward to driving technological advancements not only in 5G but also playing an active role in shaping the future of technology."
During the event, Nokia provided an overview of the current 5G landscape in Singapore and outlined how it plans to support the future rollout of 6G through various case studies. The telecommunications giant also demonstrated how its solutions could support the country's Digital Connectivity Blueprint and other key Smart Nation initiatives by enabling the digitalisation of industries.
One of the innovations featured was the MX Industrial Edge, an on-premise edge solution that can accelerate the digital transformation of operational technology. The innovation combines the benefits of the edge-as-a-service model and edge architecture to meet the needs of asset-intensive industrial environments. It can, for example, enable businesses to have real-time monitoring for video feeds and advanced video analytics solutions for quality assurance or safety purposes.
Another innovation featured was the NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome, an award-winning security orchestration solution with pre-built 5G use cases for network security assurance. Security orchestration teams can select 5G use cases from a comprehensive catalogue to cover the entire telecommunication technology from the RAN to Transport and Core. The service is designed to help the teams assess business risks and control costs.
Other innovations that were demonstrated at the event include Nokia's portfolio of optical network products, network planning and optimisation solutions and in-house-developed chipsets.
"We look forward to supporting our customers and partners to continue unlocking the remarkable potential of their networks and creating a transformative presence for Singapore’s future," added Ngiam Ming Kin.
