New iPhone 16 Models Unveiled: Leaked Images Reveal Production Designs & Color Options for Upcoming Upgrade

Thanks to third-party cases and machined blanks, we now have a clear look at four production models and the new color options for this year's iPhone upgrade.

Renowned Apple leaker Sonny Dickson has shared these images, giving us the best view yet of the rear of the upcoming iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. One notable difference between the Pro and Vanilla handsets is the arrangement of camera lenses. All four models feature a vertical arrangement of two lenses, specifically designed to support the recording of spatial videos that can be played back in stunning 3D on the Apple Vision Pro.

For the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, there is an additional periscope-styled telephoto lens, which sits comfortably on the camera island. This lens is exclusive to the more expensive models, enhancing their photography capabilities even further.

While the leaked images provide a comprehensive look at the rear design, one feature that remains unseen is the new Capture Button. This capacitive button is expected to serve as a focus and shutter button for the camera application. It follows in the footsteps of last year's user-definable Action Button, which was introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. The Capture Button will be available across all four models this year, with a subtle glimpse of the Action Button visible above the volume keys on the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

In terms of color options, the leaked images showcase three out of the seven colors that will be available. The traditional black, often referred to as space grey by Apple, is present, along with two pastel shades of pink and violet. These new color options will add a touch of vibrancy to the iPhone lineup. Additionally, white will be introduced as a new color option, bringing the total number of available colors to seven.
