The New Year is always one of the best times to start a new fitness routine, and Netflix and Nike might just have the solution to help you get started.

The streamer announced it's partnering with the sportswear giant to bring you new fitness-focused programming that can help you get in shape. Starting Friday, 30 December, you'll be able to stream Nike Training Club (NTC) videos, which feature a range of workouts for different fitness levels and interests. These include basic training and warm up routines, yoga and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) exercises, among others.

Netflix plans to release NTC in two batches, totaling to 30 hours worth of content. The first batch collects 46 videos that are divided among five programs like "Kickstart Fitness with the Basics," "Two Weeks to a Stronger Core" and "Feel-Good Fitness". You can find these videos under a specialised Nike area of the Netflix app once they go live. Alternatively, you can also simply search “Nike” on the app to find them. The second batch is expected to be released sometime in 2023.

The program also comes in multiple languages and is available on all Netflix plans.

"NTC is the ultimate training partner, providing outstanding guidance, inspiration and motivation to help all athletes reach their fitness goals," said Nike in a statement. "The NTC workouts offered in the Netflix collection feature a dozen of Nike's world-class trainers, including Joe Holder, Kirsty Godso and Betina Gozo."

The new partnership is supposedly beneficial for both Netflix and Nike. For Netflix, the addition of fitness-focused content puts it in a position to compete with the likes of Apple Fitness Plus and Peloton. Nike, meanwhile, gains more brand visibility by tapping the streamer's 223 million subscribers across the globe, which could then drive more consumers to its website and apps in search of merchandise or more training content.
