From November 22nd to 23rd November 2025, Meta will host its first-ever public AI showcase in Singapore, titled “The Place of Impossible Things.” The event is designed to demonstrate how Meta AI is transforming learning, creativity, and connection across its applications, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Prior to the public opening, an exclusive media preview was held on November 21st at New Bahru. The session was hosted by Nicole Tan, Managing Director of Meta Singapore, and offered attendees the first look at Meta’s cutting-edge AI technologies.
Impact of Meta AI
During the media session, Nicole Tan immediately established the immense scale and reach of Meta’s artificial intelligence technology, which is readily available to users on their apps. She shared that Meta AI is already integrated into the daily lives of vast numbers of users: “Meta AI now already has a billion people using it”. She highlighted that the AI is unique because it is readily accessible right on existing apps like Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp, identifiable by a little blue ring. Ms Tan also reinforced the significant economic impact of AI, particularly across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, by improving business outcomes. She shared compelling data demonstrating the tangible returns businesses are receiving from using Meta's AI solutions: “We are learning that people who are using AI in their businesses, especially in APAC, they're seeing a 20% increase in return on ad spend when they turn on some of our AI powered tools like advantage plus shopping campaigns”. Additionally, almost 2 million advertisers have begun using creative AI tools, such as image and video expansion, to help them scale and create high-performing creatives. Meta has also observed improved conversions, specifically 5% on Instagram and 3% on Facebook, through AI recommendations.
Interactive Zones and Meta Glasses

The media preview featured a tour of the four interactive experiential zones of “The Place of Impossible Things,” which allowed media to engage directly with the AI technology. The event also featured the first official local preview of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. These glasses function as a convenient AI assistant, a real-time translator, and a hands-free camera for important life moments. Since the product’s launch, more than a million units have already been sold.
AI Transforming Real-World Services

The media session included a fireside chat on AI and innovation, moderated by Nicole Tan, featuring Philipp Kandal, Chief Product Officer (CPO) at Grab, and content creator Daren Teo (@thepantryboy). They discussed how they are harnessing AI to enhance their work, creation, and engagement with customers and audiences.

Discussing the new frontier of wearables, Philipp Kandal, spoke highly of how form factors like the Meta AI glasses can solve complex, real-world navigation challenges, especially in places like Singapore's many complicated commercial structures. He noted: “Grab is a service that exists in the real world. So it would have been very cool if my glasses could have like told me, 'Hey, here's the way' because you have a camera that can like orient themselves in the world". He further mentioned that these glasses could particularly help their Grab partners find their way inside malls to pick up food or find customers in buildings with complex layout.
Content creator Daren Teo also shared that he uses AI for ideation also uses it to determine what topics resonate most with viewers of similar demographics and uses image generation to create detailed storyboards for client projects, cutting down the process of pitching and envisioning the final shot.
Nicole Tan concluded the session by affirming Meta’s dedication to developing these new experiences responsibly: "We are very committed to building responsibly and inclusively in terms of the AI experiences in Singapore”.
