The integrated resort has entered the final phase of design enhancements to its multi-billion-dollar expansion project, with full-scale construction, subject to planning approval, scheduled to begin by July 2025 and targeted to be completed by July 2029.

The expansion project will reportedly include a luxury hotel tower with a sky roof, a 15,000-seat entertainment arena and additional premium MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) spaces, as well as new food and beverage and nightlife establishments.

The arena, in particular, is expected to become a leading live entertainment venue in Asia, delivering world class premium hospitality experiences.

“The all-suite hotel tower will set new standards of hospitality, the state-of-the-art arena will help attract the highest-calibre global entertainment events and artists, and the additional convention and exhibition space will extend the success of Singapore as a leading MICE destination," said Patrick Dumont, President and Chief Operating Officer of Marina Bay Sands’ parent company, Las Vegas Sands.

"This significant investment in Singapore will help ensure Marina Bay Sands is ideally positioned to grow its economic, employment and visitorship contributions in the years ahead," he added.

The expansion project, which will be led by the architects of the existing property, Safdie Architects, is separate from a US$1.75 billion reinvestment in the existing property. With refurbishment of Hotel Towers 1 and 2 finished, the bulk of the work is now focused on Hotel Tower 3, in addition to the Hotel Lobby and Sands SkyPark, which is expected to include a VIP arrival experience, new premium dining and retail spots and a renewed focus on wellness experiences for guests.

Development costs poured into the resort have amounted to US$5.6 billion so far. That investment, however, has yielded some worthwhile returns, boosting Singapore's tourism sector, creating new jobs and supporting local small- to medium-sized businesses.
