LG’s Latest Innovation Makes Sustainable Indoor Gardening Possible

Regardless of whether you have a green thumb or not, LG’s latest lifestyle innovation called Tiiun has taken the term “green living” to a whole new level.

To be unveiled at CES 2022, the LG Tiiun was named after the Korean word for “to sprout.” Aptly so, the LG Tiiun is a modern freestanding indoor gardening appliance, which enables even those with zero experience in gardening to cultivate their own vegetables, herbs and even flowers right inside their homes.

Just like baking sourdough, banana bread or making dalgona coffee, indoor gardening has become a popular pandemic trend. People, regardless of gender or age, have been happily collecting and caring for their indoor plants, which can have mixed results. Some will bloom and continue to beautify their indoor space, while some will wilt and die to the frustration of owners. Hence, LG’s latest lifestyle appliance makes for a very interesting product.

Having gone through many years of research and development, the LG Tiiun enables consumers to have a thriving smart garden all year round. Plant parents need not worry about pests or unfavourable climate ruining their precious plants.

As it is designed to be simple to use, the LG Tiiun has two shelves that can hold up to six all-in-one seed packages with three kinds of seed kits per shelf. Each seed package contains 10 holes for seed germination, enabling users to grow a variety of greens in just four to eight weeks.

A winner of the CES 2022 Innovation Award, the LG Tiiun was lauded for its innovative technology, modern design and its unique consumer benefit.

Through the LG Tiiun, consumers don’t only have a new hobby to explore but they can also start growing their own greens for a healthier diet. LG claims consumers are able to rely on the LG Tiiun to produce the best results when it comes to plant cultivation thanks to the brand’s largely automated system.

The LG Tiiun makes use of the brand’s popular Inverter Compressor, a flexible weather control system that precisely adjusts its internal temperature. This is to create the most favourable conditions for your plants’ organic growth. Regulating temperature as well as light is also automated to be able to recreate the day’s natural cycle.

You also won’t have to worry if you watered your plants too much or too little because LG’s smart gardening system makes sure to water your plants eight times a day. Its Auto Ebb & Watering System circulates the ideal amount of moisture, helping the seeds grow into healthy greens or vibrant flowers.

With a sleek and modern design, the LG Tiiun doesn’t only look great but is also packed with awesome plant-friendly features. Designed for photosynthesis efficiency, its internal structure makes use of an internal LED light source to speed up the growing process. Its transparent door enables plant parents to watch their babies at a safe distance while LG’s mobile ThinQ™ app helps users monitor their greens, change settings or get notified whenever the water tank needs refilling.

“LG Tiiun is a practical and convenient solution for busy consumers who want to enjoy a greener, healthier lifestyle at home,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “A stylish addition to one’s home or apartment, our smart gardening system makes growing herbs, leafy greens and flowers fun and simple, even for those of us with zero gardening experience.”

You can check out the virtual display for the LG Tiiun and LG Tiiun Mini at LG’s digital exhibition booth at CES 2022 starting on January 5.
