China's Lenovo Group announced plans Tuesday to establish a regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia, aiming to strengthen its presence in the Middle East. The company has also partnered with a local company to build a manufacturing facility.

Lenovo appointed Lawrence Yu, a Lenovo veteran, as head of the new Saudi Arabian headquarters. Giovanni Di Filippo was named general manager of Lenovo Saudi Arabia, and Zoran Radumilo was appointed the company's technology chief.

The manufacturing facility is expected to begin producing PCs, laptops, smartphones, and servers from 2026.
Lenovo Chief Executive Officer Yang Yuanqing said last week that the company saw strong artificial intelligence (AI) demand across its three major business segments. Yuanqing noted that China’s demand in AI infrastructure is outpacing the rest of the world.
