The open-ear design is made for smaller ears and includes advanced parental controls for noise and playtime, featuring a volume limit of less than 85dB. JBL OpenSound delivers high-quality audio without blocking the ear canal, allowing children to remain aware of their surroundings.

Parents can manage their children's listening habits through the JBL Headphones app, which offers real-time volume and activity time indicators. The app also provides daily or weekly activity reports on volume levels and time exposure, promoting safe listening habits.

Tested for a suitable fit for small ears, the JBL Junior FREE earphones are crafted from soft silicone materials and are lightweight for comfort. A flexible neckband ensures an adjustable fit that adapts as a child grows.

These earphones feature larger, kid-friendly buttons, a splashproof IPX4 design, and wireless Bluetooth connectivity. They offer up to 10 hours of playtime per charge, with a 10-minute burst charge providing three hours of listening, and include Bluetooth Multi-point.

Carsten Olesen, president of consumer audio at JBL's parent company Harman, stated, "In recent years, we have seen a surge in adults choosing open sound as their preferred way of listening. With JBL Junior FREE, we are extending this freedom to children." Olesen further stated, "At JBL, we are committed to providing everyone with great sound. Combining Safe Sound with JBL OpenSound, JBL Junior FREE does this, while simultaneously creating a safe experience designed specifically for children."

  • JBL Junior FREE earphones offer an open-ear design for children.

  • They feature JBL Safe Sound with a volume limit below 85dB and parental controls via an app.

  • The earphones provide up to 10 hours of battery life and are splashproof with an IPX4 rating.
