According to IKEA Singapore, IKEA developed the new gaming range in collaboration with ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) with gamers' needs in mind. It consists of more than 30 products that are divided into six product families: UPPSPEL, MATCHSPEL, GRUPPSEL, UTESPLARE, HUVUDSPELARE and LÅNESPELARE.

Of the six product families, only the products in the UPPSPEL product family was developed by IKEA with ASUS ROG. In contrast, the others were created solely by IKEA based on the insights and knowledge gained from the collaboration. This decision was to ensure the width of the total gaming offer and meet the various needs of gamers in terms of function, design and price.

The products cover furniture (gaming desks, chairs) and accessories (mouse bungee, ring light) to address gamers' needs, pain points and expectations. According to ASUS ROG designer Johnny Chan, ROG wanted to design solutions for "the ultimate, immersive gaming experience".

IKEA designer Jon Karlsson also added to Chan's thoughts, saying that the products created through the partnership would help gamers become even better. "We want our products to offer better ergonomics and functions so that gamers can become even better at what they do without wearing out their bodies - become better athletes, basically," Karlsson said.

As previously mentioned, IKEA's gaming range will be available on 4 November 2021 at all IKEA stores and online. However, it will not be a permanent part of the company's inventory, meaning that the gaming range will only be sold while stocks last.

IKEA Singapore will also hold its first-ever E-Sports competition to celebrate the gaming range's release. All DOTA2 players are encouraged to signup for a chance to win IKEA's new gaming range, including ROG products and more.

Interested players with a 3360 matchmaking rating (MMR) or higher can sign up for the competition's Professional Category. Meanwhile, players with an MMR of 3359 or lower can join the event under the Casual Category.

The winner of the Professional Category will win a S$2,000 IKEA gift card and a ROG Strix XG17AHP Portable Gaming Monitor. On the other hand, the winner in the Casual Category will win a S$1,000 IKEA gift card and a set of ROG Claymore II Wireless Keyboandl as a ROG Gladius III Wireless mouse.

Registration is open from 4 November 2021 - 15 November 2021. The competition's qualifiers will be held online. The top 16 players will proceed to the Finals, which will be held in IKEA Tampines on 20 November 2021.
