Honor Unveils Thinnest Foldable Phone and Playfully Taunts Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6

Honor introduces Magic V3, the world's thinnest foldable phone. Micro-artist Graham Short crafts a witty message on the phone's hinge. The "world's smallest apology" targets Samsung Galaxy Z Fold owners.

Measuring a mere 4.35mm when unfolded and 9.2mm when folded, the Magic V3 boasts a sleek design that sets it apart. Honour celebrated this achievement in a witty and cheeky way, poking fun at competitor Samsung. The company enlisted the help of British micro-artist Graham Short to intricately inscribe a message on the phone's hinge, emphasising its slimmer design than Samsung's offerings.

Because of the hinge's surprising durability, the message was delicately etched using diamond-tipped pins over a 90-hour time period. Honour humorously refers to this message as "the world's smallest apology," with each line of the 166-word text being as thin as a human hair at 100 microns tall. The message, visible only under a microscope, humorously acknowledges Samsung Galaxy Z Fold owners and their potential feelings of being outshone by the thinner and lighter Magic V3.

The message reads:

"Dear Samsung Galaxy Z Fold owners, we’re sorry. We know you were excited to buy a phone that folds in half and fits in your pocket, awkwardly. You were promised the future, a technical marvel, a world of boundless multitasking and performance. And now, you're probably looking at the new HONOR Magic V3 and feeling a little... betrayed. Size matters, and we feel your pain. Like being tipped for a gold medal and then coming last in the race, the knowledge that a thinner, lighter, and more durable foldable exists is enough to make anyone question their choices. We get it. You were an early adopter, a pioneer bravely venturing into the uncharted territory of foldable screens with questionable durability. You deserve better. In fact, you deserve a gold medal.

In all seriousness, we at HONOR are committed to pushing the boundaries of technology and bringing you the best possible foldable experience. We're just saying... it's okay to feel let down. We'd feel the same way."

Honor's playful approach aims to draw attention to the Magic V3, set to hit the European market in the upcoming weeks.
