Google has officially revealed the Pixel 10 smartphone in a surprise teaser, offering the first look at its next-generation device ahead of its August launch.

The teaser video appeared on the Google Store page, showing off the Pixel 10’s updated design and a notable hardware upgrade—a third rear camera lens. This marks the first time a base model Pixel will include a telephoto lens.
Design changes are subtle but present. The camera island has been slightly reduced in size, and bezels are slimmer, though the overall aesthetic remains consistent with last year’s model.
The early reveal comes ahead of Google’s “Made By Google” event, scheduled for Aug. 20. The move mirrors the company’s strategy with the Pixel 9 in 2024, aiming to control the narrative and shift focus to new features rather than comparisons to previous models.
Google is expected to highlight the Pixel 10’s integration of artificial intelligence, including its Gemini AI platform, and improvements in performance and efficiency through its Tensor mobile chipset.
The Pixel 10 continues Google’s tradition of using its smartphones as reference designs, showcasing the direction it believes the industry should follow. With AI now a central feature in smartphones, Google is positioning the Pixel 10 as a leader in this space.

The addition of a telephoto lens also signals a push for better camera capabilities, likely supported by AI-driven post-processing.
The Pixel 10 series, including the Pixel 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold, is expected to launch during the Aug. 20 event, with retail availability beginning Aug. 27.
