Google Launches Pixel Watch 2, Announces Upgrade for Pixel Buds Pro
Google's Pixel launch event today isn't limited to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
The search engine giant announced the Pixel Watch 2 and new upgrades for the Pixel Buds Pro, alongside the unveiling of its latest Pixel handsets.
The Pixel Watch 2 boasts a number of major improvements over the original Pixel Watch, both inside and out. Chief of which is perhaps the inclusion of new health sensors. These include a skin temperature sensor, improved multi-path heart-rate tracking and body-response stress level analysis.
Elsewhere, the wearable includes enhanced personal safety features, and significant performance upgrades, while maintaining up to 24 hours of battery life, as Google touts.
Users can also enjoy deeper health insights as well as new stress management and new fitness tracking tools from Fitbit. Multi-path heart-rate tracking, for example, now provides more accurate readings than before. What's more, the smartwatch can detect the wearer's stress levels by tracking sweat, skin temperature and heart rate.
Other key features of the Pixel Watch 2 include an always-on display, support for Google apps and services like Assistant, Gmail and Calendar and Safety Check, which lets users' family and friends know where they are during specific times of the day.
The Pixel Watch 2 is available via Amazon, Challenger, Shopee, Singtel starting Thursday, 12 October for S$525.
Apart from that, Google also announced it'll be adding new features to the Pixel Buds Pro. These new features come in the form of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered improvements, which enable clearer voice calling and reduces gaming latency by up to 50%, while maintaining hearing wellness.
There is also Conversation Detection, which detects when the users start speaking and responds by pausing their music and switching to Transparency Mode, allowing them to hear all that is being said.
The Pixel Buds Pro is available now via the Google Store for S$299.
