Google has laid off approximately 200 employees from its global business organisation, which oversees sales and partnerships, according to a report by The Information.

The job cuts were implemented on Tuesday and reflect the company's ongoing efforts to streamline operations and prioritise emerging technologies.
A Google spokesperson said the company is making a small number of changes across teams to enhance collaboration and improve service delivery to customers.
The move follows a broader trend among major tech firms, which are reallocating resources toward data centres and artificial intelligence development while reducing investments in other areas.
Last month, The Information reported that Google had also laid off hundreds of employees in its platforms and devices unit, which includes Android, Pixel phones and the Chrome browser.
In January 2023, Google-parent Alphabet announced plans to cut 12,000 jobs, representing 6% of its global workforce. As of Dec. 31, 2024, Alphabet employed 183,323 people, according to a February filing.
Other tech giants have also made workforce reductions. Meta laid off about 5% of its lowest-performing employees in January, while accelerating hiring for machine learning engineers.
Microsoft cut 650 jobs in its Xbox division in September, and Amazon reduced staff across several departments, including communications. Apple also eliminated around 100 roles in its digital services group last year.
