Electronic Arts has laid off between 300 and 400 employees and cancelled a Titanfall game in development at its Respawn Entertainment studio, according to a Bloomberg News report.

Roughly 100 of the affected positions were at Respawn, the report said, citing a person familiar with the matter.
The company said the changes are part of a broader strategy to align teams and resources with long-term growth goals.
“As part of our continued focus on our long-term strategic priorities, we've made select changes within our organisation that more effectively aligns teams and allocates resources in service of driving future growth,” a company spokesperson said.
As of March 31, 2024, Electronic Arts employed about 13,700 people globally, with 66% based outside the United States.
Respawn confirmed the cancellation of the Titanfall project and said it is stepping away from two early-stage incubation projects.
The studio also announced targeted adjustments to its Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi franchises.
Despite the cuts, Respawn said it remains committed to the next season of Apex Legends and is continuing development on the next chapter of the Star Wars Jedi series, which aims to improve storytelling and gameplay.
In January, Electronic Arts lowered its annual bookings forecast due to weak in-game spending for “FC 25” and underperformance of its new Dragon Age title.
The company cited economic uncertainty and high inflation as contributing factors.
