DOBOT officially released LUMO, described as the world's first embodied all terrain humanoid robot. This product marks a category innovation. DOBOT aims to extend robot capabilities beyond traditional limits, allowing robots to move from a voice tool to a social role in daily life and education, according to 36kr.

A video showcased LUMO, standing nearly 1.3 metres tall. It moved with natural gait through diverse environments including lawn, sand, and cobblestone. The robot transitioned between outdoor, home, and office settings without mechanical rigidity. Its design is highly anthropomorphic for domestic long distance walking. In the video, LUMO performed as an outdoor sports training partner, boxing with children, coordinating waist movements, and completing a backflip. At home, it acted as an emotional companion, recognising feelings, offering comfort, and executing dance steps precisely to music.

But the video used no conceptual special effects. It interpreted "intelligent companionship" through real world demonstrations, defining DOBOT's position in the consumer grade humanoid robot sector. The robot also quietly switched to a soft gait at night, gently turning off lights upon sensing the owner asleep. Its appearance is noted for high affinity, suiting various age groups, offering appropriate voice interaction and smooth role transitions.

Xie Kaixuan, DOBOT's Brand Marketing Director, outlined "embodied all terrain" via four dimensions. These include all terrain space for moving through homes, shopping malls, and campuses. All terrain role allows identity switching, such as life buddy or popular science partner. All terrain capability refers to integrating vision, voice, and motion, upgrading from passive responses to active perception and action. All terrain cycle means continuous iteration with user growth, improving understanding over time. This positions robots as intelligent agents, adapting to environments, fulfilling needs, and providing companionship.

Mr Kaixuan stated DOBOT LUMO uses the proprietary Kongyi Embodied Large Model for its core capabilities. These include multimodal emotion perception, identifying user emotions through combined vision and voice input for proactive responses. It also features 3D spatial understanding and active action. A high precision navigation and obstacle avoidance system supports its anthropomorphic gait and motion performance, described as leading domestically for long distance, multi terrain walking. It allows autonomous walking for service.

And the robot provides autonomous learning and long term evolution. This is based on a closed loop system using real scene data, continuously learning family living habits. This increases its companion value with usage time. LUMO stands at nearly 1.3 metres tall. Its design is intended to be friendly and non aggressive, offering a natural, smooth interactive experience. This addresses companionship requirements of urban office workers, young families, and school age children.

For urban office workers, LUMO offers late return greetings, emotional comfort, and daily chat. Young families may use it as a playmate, assisting with sports companionship, child care, and activity reminders. School age children could engage with it as a popular science partner, receiving answers to questions and explanations, and participating in educational games. This serves as an alternative to electronic screens, integrating AI enlightenment.

LUMO also operates as an embodied intelligent teaching and development platform. It supports dance performance and rhythm interaction, providing robot performance solutions for commercial exhibitions, brand events, and technology shows. It targets K to 12 education, vocational schools, undergraduates, and researchers.

So, this platform supports secondary development. It is used for embodied intelligent course teaching and research, covering areas such as robot cognition, motion control, embodied intelligent algorithms, SLAM navigation, visual perception, and human robot interaction. The LUMO launch signifies a substantial upgrade within China's hundred billion level intelligent companionship market. It represents embodied intelligence transitioning into practical application.
