CD Projekt has released "Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition" on the Nintendo Switch 2, marking the first time the game is available to Nintendo players.
The launch coincided with the debut of the Switch 2 console on Thursday, drawing long queues from gaming fans eager to try the next-generation device.
Priced at USD 69.99, the game is expected to be one of the most popular third-party titles available at launch, according to Trigon DM analyst Grzegorz Balcerski.
CD Projekt, Poland’s largest game developer, has increasingly relied on its back catalogue to drive revenue, especially following the September 2023 release of the "Phantom Liberty" expansion.
With delays affecting new game releases across the industry, developers like CD Projekt and Embracer have turned to existing titles to maintain cash flow.
Erste Group analyst Krzysztof Tkocz noted that the Switch 2 release will significantly impact CD Projekt’s financial results in the second quarter and beyond.
