The three-wheeled vehicle, developed by Kuickwheel’s Rictor department, was first revealed at CES 2025 and is now available for pre-order on Chinese platforms such as JD.com for approximately 498,800 yuan (USD 69,000).

The Skyrider X6 operates in two modes: a ground-based ‘reverse trike’ mode and a flight mode using a 6-axis, 6-rotor electric system. In ground mode, it has a range of 200 km, while in flight mode, it can travel up to 50 km.

Two battery variants are available. The standard model includes a 10.5 kWh battery that supports fast DC charging, reaching full charge in 1 hour or 80% in 30 minutes. A larger 21 kWh version offers up to 40 minutes of flight time.

Constructed from carbon fibre composites and aviation-grade aluminium alloy, the Skyrider X6 features automated takeoff, landing, and route planning, along with manual joystick control.

Safety features include redundant motors, backup control systems, and a ballistic parachute for emergencies.

Operating costs are estimated at 3 yuan (USD 0.41) per km in flight mode, with annual maintenance ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 yuan (USD 2,800 to USD 4,200).

Despite its advanced technology, the Skyrider X6 faces regulatory hurdles. Low-altitude civilian airspace below 200 metres is not fully legal in China, and a light-sport aircraft licence costing around 50,000 yuan (USD 6,900) is required.

The Skyrider X6 competes with other aerial vehicles such as XPeng AeroHT’s flying car, priced at 1.2 million yuan (USD 166,000). Potential uses include urban commuting, emergency transport, and luxury recreation.
