China launched an experimental spacecraft on Tuesday to test satellite internet technology, marking another step in its space ambitions.

The satellite lifted off at noon Beijing time from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the country's northwest aboard a Long March-2D carrier rocket.
It successfully entered its planned orbit shortly after launch.
The spacecraft will be used for technical verification and experiments, including mobile-to-satellite broadband connections and the integration of space-ground networks.
This mission marks the 567th flight of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
