Burnley FC is offering fans a new way to experience matches with a virtual reality broadcast of their upcoming pre-season friendly against Lazio on Aug. 9.

The Premier League club has partnered with Manchester-based VR company Rezzil to deliver what it calls a first-of-its-kind immersive viewing experience.

Supporters with compatible VR headsets will be able to take a virtual seat inside Turf Moor, complete with live match commentary and in-stadium audio.
Burnley Chairman Alan Pace said the initiative reflects the club’s forward-thinking approach to fan engagement and its commitment to global supporters.
“Our mission is to provide the best experiences to fans, and by entering into the world of Virtual Reality, they can get closer to the game than ever before,” Pace said.
Rezzil, which provides VR technology for athlete training and sports analysis, signed a four-year partnership with the Premier League last year to enhance fan engagement.
Co-founder Andy Etches said the collaboration with Burnley and the Premier League aims to deliver a next-generation football experience.
“Our technology has long been trusted by elite athletes to sharpen performance, and now we're using that same technology to bring it to supporters,” Etches said.
