ASUS Unveils Two Laptops With 16-Inch 4K OLED HDR Displays

If you're a professional creator, then you might want to take a look at two new 16-inch laptops from Asus with 4K OLED HDR displays, the ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED and ProArt StudioBook 16 Pro OLED. The displays cover 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, boast a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio as well as Pantone Validated and Calman Verified certifications. On top of that, they feature up to 550 nits in brightness and are suitable for "colour-critical" 2D and 3D visual software.

According to Nicole Dezen, Vice President of Device Partner Sales at Microsoft, the laptops will help creators achieve more productivity.


"The all-new ASUS Zenbook, Vivobook and ProArt Studiobook series will inspire content creators with its power and performance. Coupled with the ability to upgrade to Windows 11, users will experience new levels of productivity and creativity," said Dezen.

Both models come with the ASUS Dial, a new physical rotary control placed on the left side of the keyboard deck. With the dial, you can calibrate parameters in compatible Adobe apps such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Photoshop Lightroom Classic and After Effects. By using the new ProArt Creator Hub app, you can adjust the ASUS Dial's settings as well as other laptop settings and customisations. There is also a middle mouse button included on both laptops that will definitely come in handy for 3D artists.

The ProArt StudioBook Pro 16 OLED comes in two models, the W5600 or the W7600. The W5600 model can be equipped with up to an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX and an Nvidia RTX A2000, while the W7600 model can be specced up to an Intel Xeon W-11955M and up to an Nvidia RTX A5000. Meanwhile, the ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED can be specced up to an AMD Ryzen 5900HX with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070, or it can come with up to an Intel Core i9 11900H and an Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060.


Both laptops come with dual ultra-fast PCIe SSDs and can be equipped with up to 64GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM. There are a variety of ports available, including Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and HDMI 2.1 as well as an SD Express 7.0 card reader.

ASUS also unveiled the ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 OLED, a 15.6-inch laptop that can be specced up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU, up to a 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD and up to 32GB of RAM. It comes with either an Intel Core H-Series or an AMD Ryzen 5000 H-Series processor. The device also has the latest ASUS ScreenPad, which is a 5.65-inch secondary colour touchscreen built into the touchpad for easy interaction with the new ScreenXpert 2 interface.


Its beefed-up version — the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED — has the ASUS ScreenPad Plus, a full-width 14-inch secondary touchscreen that works well with the main touchscreen, allowing for effortless multitasking. It can be equipped with up to an Intel Core i9 processor and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card.

For casual creators, they can turn to the ASUS VivoBook Pro Series, which has the 14/15 OLED and the 14X/16X OLED models.


The VivoBook Pro 14/15 OLED has two screen sizes and options: either 14-inch or 15.6-inch, and up to either a NanoEdge 2.8K or an FHD OLED display. There are a few different configurations, with either 11th Gen Intel H Series processors or AMD's Ryzen 5000 H-Series mobile processors. The laptop also comes with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 GPU, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of PCIe SSD storage.


Meanwhile, the ASUS VivoBook Pro 14X/16X OLED houses up to either a 16-inch 4K OLED HDR 550-nit display or a 14-inch 2.8K OLED HDR 600-nit display with an ultrawide 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut that ensures true to life colours. Both models are the world’s first laptops to receive VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. They are also Pantone Validated for professional-grade colour accuracy as well as TÜV Rheinland-certified for low blue-light emissions. These models also support a virtual ASUS DialPad on the touchpad.


Details about the laptops' pricing and availability in Singapore have not been released.
