What happens when you take a high-performance business laptop to the upper layers of the atmosphere? To showcase the extreme durability of their latest flagship device, ASUS mounted the new ExpertBook Ultra in a 3D-printed rig and launched it via a high-altitude balloon to an altitude exceeding 8,856 meters, higher than the summit of Mount Everest. During this extraordinary flight, the laptop endured plummeting temperatures of -42°C, low air pressure, and rapid temperature fluctuations. Its journey concluded with a massive mechanical impact, plummeting back to earth and landing on wet ground at a speed of seven meters per second. The device survived fully functional, proving that real-world professional use demands resilience far beyond traditional laboratory testing.
This spectacular stunt served as the perfect introduction to the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra, a device engineered to redefine the modern workplace. S.Y. Hsu, Co-CEO of ASUS, emphasised the philosophy behind the design: "The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra represents our vision for what the next generation of enterprise devices can become... We believe great enterprise technology should simplify experiences. Not complicate them. It should help people stay focused and work more intuitively".

To achieve this, the ExpertBook Ultra marries ultra-portability with robust strength. It is built from an aerospace-grade AZ31B magnesium-aluminium alloy and features a 9H-hardness Nano Ceramic surface, allowing it to weigh a mere 0.99 kg while maintaining an ultra-thin 10.9 mm profile.

Beneath its sleek exterior lies a true performance powerhouse. The laptop is equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processor and a dedicated 50 TOPS NPU designed specifically for intensive, on-device AI workloads. Thanks to the advanced ExpertCool Pro thermal system, the device sustains an unprecedented 50W CPU thermal design power without throttling or overheating. It also pioneers a stunning 14-inch 3K Tandem OLED touchscreen that delivers 1,400 nits of peak HDR brightness, paired with a massive 70Wh battery offering up to 26 hours of productivity. Summarising its remarkable capabilities, Emma Ou, Commercial Regional Manager, noted: "This is not just an AI PC, this is not just a thin and light laptop, this is a thin and light mobile workstation".

The ExpertBook Ultra's launch underscores ASUS's staggering growth trajectory in the computing space. Starting as a motherboard company in 1989 and producing its first notebook in 1997, ASUS has aggressively expanded to become the worldwide number two consumer PC brand. This massive footprint is now heavily influencing their commercial success. Rex Lee, VP of ASUS, pointed out the strategic benefit of this scale: "Our huge quantity in consumer PC give us the cost advantage to compete in a commercial PC field". Lee further noted that in the worldwide market, "only ASUS have the capability to challenge Dell, Lenovo, and HP". With a remarkable 2.8 times sales growth across the APAC region from 2024 to 2025, ASUS continues to leverage its deep innovation roots, proving it is a dominant, trustworthy force ready to take over the enterprise laptop space.
