Apple will hold a fall event on Sept. 9, with new iPhones expected to be unveiled. Investors are closely watching as the company faces concerns about ceding ground to rivals in artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

Media reports suggest Apple may introduce a slimmer version of its latest iPhone, possibly branded as the iPhone Air, aligning with its iPad Air and MacBook Air product lines. Bloomberg News has also reported expectations for new entry-level, high-end Apple Watches, upgraded iPad Pros, and a faster Vision Pro headset.
Under pressure from the Trump administration, Apple has significantly increased its investment in the U.S. to USD 600 billion over the next four years. This move aims to create jobs, shift some work to the U.S., and potentially sidestep import duties.
The company faces ongoing pressure from tariffs imposed on U.S. imports from various countries, including its production hubs in China and India.

In June, Apple announced several new AI and software features, alongside an overhaul of its operating system. This redesign included updating its icons and menu to a style it describes as "liquid glass."
Despite these announcements, Apple's delayed embrace of the AI market has left it trailing behind other major technology companies. Smartphone makers Samsung, Honor, and Huawei have capitalised on this gap, attracting customers with their own AI offerings.
Apple's fall event is scheduled for Sept. 9, with new iPhones anticipated.
Other expected product unveilings include new Apple Watches, upgraded iPad Pros, and a faster Vision Pro headset.
The company has committed USD 600 billion in U.S. investment over four years, partly due to tariff pressures.
