Amazon is preparing to test humanoid robots for delivery tasks, according to a report by The Information.

The company is developing artificial intelligence software to power the robots, which could eventually replace human delivery workers.
Amazon is completing construction of a "humanoid park," an indoor obstacle course located at one of its offices in San Francisco, California. The facility will be used to test the robots in a controlled environment.

While Amazon is building the software in-house, it plans to use hardware from other companies during the initial testing phase.
The move is part of a broader push by Amazon to integrate AI across its operations. On Wednesday, the company showcased how AI will enhance its stockroom robots, delivery systems and warehouse operations to accelerate package delivery.
