Amazon Prime Video Adds Free News Tab

Amazon.com is rolling out a dedicated news tab on its Prime Video streaming service. This feature will become available to all U.S. customers for free by the end of the year.

The news section will host networks including ABC News Live, CBS News 24/7, LiveNOW from Fox, CNN Headlines, and NBC News NOW. It will cover a broad selection of topics such as world, national, and regional news.

The e-commerce giant aims to make it more convenient for customers to access live networks. This initiative also seeks to grow its user base amidst strong competition from rivals.
Separately, Amazon announced a new subscription channel offering a selection of Sony Pictures movies and shows. This channel is named Sony Pictures Core.
Sony Pictures Core is available on Prime Video to customers in the U.S. and Canada. The service costs USD 6.99 per month.
A dedicated news tab is launching on Prime Video.
The news tab will be free for all U.S. customers by the end of the year.
