Series, an AI-assisted social networking startup, is launching a reality TV show titled The Series on Twitch starting Aug. 12, aiming to boost brand awareness among Gen Z users.

Founded by Yale students Nathaneo Johnson and Sean Hargrow, Series is a text-based messaging platform that uses AI agents, called “AI friends,” to connect users through curated group chats. The app has already attracted 250,000 profiles, primarily from college students.
The Series Reality TV Show will feature 12 student interns living in a Hamptons house, competing in challenges designed to blend entertainment with startup culture. The show will stream weekly on Twitch via creator Yugi2x’s channel, which has over 180,000 followers.

Actress Caitlin Carmichael, known for roles in The Good Doctor and Young Sheldon, will host the show. Grammy-nominated music video director Edgar Estevez is producing the series.
Clips from each episode will be repackaged for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels to maximise reach and engagement.
The startup generated over USD 60,000 in revenue last month and is targeting USD 1 million in annual recurring revenue ahead of a planned USD 20 million Series A fundraising round.
Series previously raised USD 3.1 million in pre-seed funding from Parable, Pear VC, and angel investors including Reddit CEO Steve Huffman.
The app operates entirely within messaging platforms like iMessage and aims to replace traditional networking tools with AI-powered, relationship-focused connections.
The company plans to launch a premium tier for recruiters and small businesses and is preparing for a college tour in the autumn.
Series has processed over 300,000 messages and facilitated thousands of introductions, positioning itself as a Gen Z alternative to LinkedIn.
