Adobe has announced a new wave of artificial intelligence tools called agentic AI, designed to enhance creativity and productivity across its software platforms.

Ely Greenfield, Adobe’s Chief Technology Officer of Digital Media Business, outlined the company’s vision for agentic AI, which includes intelligent agents capable of conversing, acting and solving complex problems within Adobe applications.
The new AI agents build on Adobe’s Firefly generative AI platform, which has already enabled users to create over 20 billion commercially safe, production-ready assets. Adobe says agentic AI will further empower users by handling repetitive tasks and offering intelligent suggestions, allowing creatives to focus on higher-level work.
In Adobe Acrobat, agentic AI will soon allow users to create custom agents that can analyse documents, answer questions and suggest areas for further exploration. Acrobat currently supports over 400 billion PDF openings annually by 650 million monthly active users.
Adobe Express, a popular tool for visual content creation, will also benefit from agentic AI. The company is developing an agent that acts as a creative partner, helping users build and refine designs without needing to master the software. This aims to support marketers, small business owners and students in producing impactful content more efficiently.
Creative Cloud, Adobe’s flagship suite, will integrate AI agents to streamline workflows. More than 75% of Photoshop users already use Firefly-powered features, and Adobe expects agentic AI to have a similar impact. Agents will assist with tasks such as finishing designs, learning new tools and preparing assets for export.
At Adobe MAX 2025 in London later this month, Adobe will debut its first creative agent for Photoshop through a new Actions panel. This feature will recommend smart, context-aware edits and allow users to access over 1,000 one-click actions using natural language.
Premiere Pro is also receiving agentic AI enhancements. Adobe recently introduced Media Intelligence, which recognises objects and visual composition in video clips. Future agents will help with rough cuts, shot selection, colour correction and audio mixing, accelerating the editing process while keeping users in control.
Adobe’s research teams are now focused on building the foundational framework for agentic AI across its enterprise applications. These agents will support marketing and creative teams by driving personalisation at scale and adapting to user feedback.
Adobe believes agentic AI will act as a force multiplier, enabling creatives to scale their output with speed, versatility and impact.
