Acer Announces Slew of Products, Including Laptop With Glasses-free Stereoscopic 3D

Acer recently unveiled its new ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition laptop, along with other products. The laptop offers glasses-free stereoscopic 3D and caters to developers and 3D designers.

SpatialLabs combines a suite of hardware and software features such as a stereo camera with two sensors that track your eyes and head as well as an optical lens on the display that refracts the two slightly different images to your eyes. There is also rendering software that can adjust the 3D images in real time as you move around.


The laptop can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7 processor, up to 64GB of DDR4 memory, up to an NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU and up to 2TB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage.

There's a 15.6-inch LCD panel that offers 3840 x 2160 resolution in 2D mode or 1920 x 2160 in 3D mode. It's a PANTONE-validated UHD 4K display that can cover 100% of the Adobe RGB colour gamut and achieve a Delta E<2 colour accuracy rating.


Aside from that, the computer is packed with a bunch of artificial intelligence technologies that let you convert standard 2D content into stereoscopic 3D content.

Acer similarly announced an expansion of the ConceptD 3 laptop lineup. A new 16-inch clamshell model (CN316-73G) with a 16:10 aspect ratio screen and a 15.6-inch convertible model (CC315-73G) are included here.


ConceptD 3 Pro and ConceptD 3 Ezel Pro devices have also been launched. Both feature up to an Intel Core i7 processor that can reach 4.6GHz and an NVIDIA T1200 Laptop GPU.


All of the brand new ConceptD 3 laptops feature a PANTONE-Validated display with a Delta E<2 colour accuracy rating.


The rollout of the ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition will begin in 2022 in North America and in December 2021 in EMEA. It will start at €3,599.

Meanwhile, the ConceptD 3 (CN316-73G) will be available in North America starting January 2022 with a base price of US$1,699.99.

Starting at US$1,899.99, the ConceptD 3 Pro will begin selling in North America in January 2022.

The ConceptD 3 Ezel (CC315-73G) will have a starting price of US$1,899.99 and will be available in North America beginning November 2021.


Initial selling of the ConceptD 3 Ezel Pro, which has a starting price of US$1,999.99, will begin in January 2022 in North America.

Widening its gaming portfolio, Acer announced its new Predator Orion 7000 desktop series. Powered by 12th-generation Intel Core processors, the Predator Orion 7000 series is designed for hardcore gamers. It comes with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 series GPUs and up to 64GB of DDR5-4000 RAM.


You can also take advantage of Intel Killer 2.5G LAN that prioritises game traffic over other network traffic, making for smoother and faster connectivity for online gaming.

You can also expect Intel Wi-Fi 6E, 2x2 MU-MIMO technology and three ports for USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, one for USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C and two audio jacks on the front of the desktop's chassis. On the back, there are three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, two USB 2.0 ports and three audio jacks.


The Predator Orion 7000 will start being available in North America in Q2 of 2022 and in EMEA in Q1 of 2022 with a starting price of €2,199.


For those of you who want a device for work or school, then you might want to take a look at Acer's new Chromebook models.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 and the Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514 are powered by up to 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processors and feature a 14-inch FHD IPS display that boasts an 84% screen-to-body ratio. For video calls, you can use an FHD MIPI webcam that leverages a blue glass filter that makes for clearer images and lessens light flares.

Letting you switch from work to play easily, the Chromebook Spin 514 and Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514's convertible design allows you to configure the devices to laptop, tablet, tent or display mode. Both devices are also durable, considering that they have MIL-STD 810H certification and aluminium top and bottom covers.


Other features of the Chromebooks include dual USB Type-C ports, a Corning Gorilla Glass touchpad, a backlit keyboard and Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+).

If you want a device with a big display, then the Acer Chromebook 515 and the Acer Chromebook Enterprise 515 might fit your needs as it has a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display that you can get with optional multi-touch capability. The latter is suited for businesses that use cloud technology and for IT administrators who handle their company's cloud workforce.


Both have up to 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processors, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, up to 512GB of PCIe NVMe storage and up to 16GB of RAM, providing responsive performance and allowing the Chromebooks to go from wake to sleep in under a second.

With an aluminium top cover and a reinforced design, the Chromebook 515 and the Chromebook Enterprise 515 feature military-grade durability.


These devices include two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports for data transfers, power delivery as well as audio and video sharing to external displays. They also connect with HDMI, microSD and Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+).

Inside the Chromebook are the latest Intel processors and a battery that can last up to 10 hours. As for its screen, it has a 14-inch FHD IPS touchscreen display with narrow 6mm bezels.


For connectivity options, there are two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, an HDMI and a microSD slot. You can also expect Wi-Fi 6 and 2x2 MU-MIMO technology.


Sales of the Acer Chromebook 514 will begin in North America in December 2021 with a starting price of US$399.99. On the other hand, the Acer Chromebook Spin 514 will go on sale in North America beginning January 2022 with a base price of US$699.99. As for the Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514, it will initially be available in North America in December 2021 starting at US$899.99.


Beginning October 2021, the Acer Chromebook 515 will be available in EMEA starting at €499.


In January 2022, the Acer Chromebook Enterprise 515 will start rolling out in North America with a base price of US$649.99. Meanwhile, the Acer Chromebook Spin 314 will begin selling in North America in November 2021 starting at US$499.99.

Acer similarly announced new monitors and a 4K projector that are suited for home entertainment enthusiasts and gamers. For gaming, there's the Nitro XV272U KF monitor that has a 27-inch WQHD display that boasts a 300Hz refresh rate.


Allowing for smoother gameplay, AMD FreeSync Premium increasingly improves visual performance by adjusting the display's refresh rate to match the GPU's. With it being VESA DisplayHDR 600-Certified, the monitor makes the most out of 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and a Delta E<1 colour accuracy rating, which results in games looking more vivid.


If you hate the eye discomfort that you experience from staring at the screen for too long, then worry not as the monitor has Acer Vision Care 3.0 technology, which may help lessen eye strain during prolonged usage. Meanwhile, Acer's Agile-Splendor IPS panel offers high contrast and lifelike colours even at wide viewing angles.

For content creators in need of a new monitor, they can take a look at the Acer CB273U. It's a 27-inch WQHD IPS monitor that shows off vivid 8-bit colours, boasts HDR10 support and a Delta E<1 colour accuracy rating.


With Acer BlueLightShield Pro, Acer Flickerless and low-dimming technology, the monitor can allow for a viewing experience that is comfortable to the eye, as proven by the product's TÜV and Eyesafe certification.

On the other hand, the Acer L811, an ultra-short-throw laser projector, is great for people who want to enjoy a home theatre experience. It is capable of a 120-inch projection from only 0.312 metres. Its image quality is further improved by a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, while Acer LumiSense technology adjusts brightness levels based on the content you're viewing.


With the device, you also project content in 3D at 144HZ 24p via 3D Blu-ray.


In November 2021, the Nitro XV272U KF monitor will start being available in North America at US$1,099.99. On the other hand, the Acer CB273U monitor will begin rolling out in North America in November 2021 at US$439.99.


The Acer L811 projector will start selling in EMEA in November 2021 at €2,599.

Acer also expanded its anti-microbial product portfolio with the Acer Enduro Urban N3 laptop, the Enduro Urban T3 tablet, the Acer TravelMate Spin P4 convertible laptop, the Acer VE246Q monitor, the Acer Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse KM501 and the Acer eco-shell jacket.

Aside from that, the company unveiled a lineup of green products that use post-consumer recycled plastic and recyclable packaging: the Acer Aspire Vero laptop, the Acer TravelMate Vero laptop, the Acer Veriton Vero desktop PC, the Acer Vero BR277 FHD monitor and accessories like mice and mousepads.
