L'Oréal held the Grand Finale of its Big Bang Beauty Tech Innovation Program on Wednesday, 23 October in Singapore, crowning three startups as the winners for South Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa (SAPMENA) region.

The three winning teams are Creatively Squared (Singapore), Live2.ai (India), and NeuralGarage (India).

Launched in May 2024, L'Oréal’s inaugural Big Bang Beauty Tech Innovation Program tasked startups to create innovative solutions to key challenges in the beauty industry, which includes consumer experience, content, media, new commerce, and tech for good.

Hundreds of teams across the SAPMENA region participated in the five-month competition and had the chance to connect with commercial and digital leaders to test new ideas.

Singapore’s Creatively Squared is a visual content production platform that enables brands to produce original photos and videos that resonate and thrive with their target audience.

The platform has a network of creators and freelancers handling production, while a dedicated management team ensures the content is on-brand and adheres to guidelines and legal standards. It describes itself as an all-inclusive production solution that streamlines the content production journey of businesses.

Meanwhile, Live2.ai is a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that creates interactive video solutions, focusing on shoppable video technology for Connected TV (CTV) and brands’ websites and apps. It allows businesses to create interactive videos where viewers can shop directly within the video content. This solution, as the startup touts, not only boosts sales but also helps businesses reach the right audience and expand their reach.

Finally, NeuralGarage is a deep tech startup that leverages generative artificial intelligence (AI) to solve the problem of awkward dubbing in entertainment. Its technology syncs actors’ lip movements with dubbed audio to create a natural and authentic viewing experience not only for movies and shows but any multilingual video content.

The three teams won the chance to work with L’Oréal in a commercial pilot, tap into new markets across the SAPMENA region and embark on a year-long mentorship program with senior executives from the cosmetics giant.
