Foreo ISSA 3 Review: Electric Toothbrush That Lasts Up To 365 Days?!

Updated: Dec 6, 2021

Foreo is a brand that many will associate with beauty technology devices - like their Luna facial cleansing devices. We got our hands on their ISSA 3 electric toothbrush and we were pretty stoked.

The design is simple and the colour itself was what caught our eyes. The ISSA 3 we got came in striking fuchsia, which is a stark difference from the usual, standard toothbrushes you’ll see in the market. And from the design, we could tell that Foreo tried to incorporate a 4-in-1 oral care into one product.

ISSA 3 aims to not only clean the teeth and gums but also the tongue and cheeks. This all-in-one toothbrush is also lightweight, weighing at just 72g and is compact to carry around for travels. We like that it can also stand on its own, without the help of any toothbrush holder.

The ISSA 3 comes with a Hybrid Wave Brush Head, with stronger silicone bristles and claims to have a longer brush head life. The replaceable brush head feels like the usual soft bristles which are very comfortable to use. It uses Sonic Pulse Technology to give the teeth a gentle cleaning at up to 11,000 pulsations per minute. Instead of just rotating and oscillating, toothbrushes with such technology vibrate to allow a more dynamic, cleaning action.

The vibrating effect is good, as it gives the perception that it’s giving my teeth and gums the extra cleaning boost. The ISSA 3 comes with 16 levels of intensities, so you can customise and control the intensity of the vibration easily without worrying about hurting your gums. The toothbrush will emit a little extra vibration and white light every 30 seconds to remind you to change brushing position - which is really a plus point if you are the kind who always wonders how much is too much.

If you are wondering how long the battery will last, fret not. Foreo claims that the battery life can last up to one year, and we’ve been using it for a couple of months now and the battery is still going strong. If the battery runs out, there’ll be a red light indicated to remind you to start charging with the USB charging cable. With just 2 hours of charging, it’s supposed to give you up to another year of battery life.

For someone who’s just started using an electric toothbrush, the ISSA 3 is definitely a good start. It’s a straightforward device to get started with, not much fuss or setting up to be done. It also feels very much like our regular toothbrush, so getting used to it wasn’t a problem.

If you are looking for a good oral care device to start with that helps serve your daily purpose in maintaining oral health, you may consider getting the Foreo ISSA 3 (S$246) on FOREO’s official website.
